Phoenix head coach Monty Williams approached opposing head coach Stephen Silas after his team`s 97-111 loss to Houston to offer congratulations on the victory and support on the death of his father, Paul Silas.


Williams hugged Silas tightly and spoke something in his ear for a long time.


Famed player and coach Paul Silas has died aged 79. He was a two-time NBA champion with Boston (1974, 1976) and one with Seattle (1979), a two-time All-Star and a two-time All-Defensive First Team selection.


As a head coach, Silas led the Clippers, Charlotte, New Orleans and Cleveland, and served as an assistant for several teams. LeBron James spent his first and most of his second season in the NBA under Silas with the Cavaliers.
