The Lakers have concerns about D`Angelo Russell. The Lakers point guard was benched last week before their game mentioned by ranking of european leagues against Philadelphia. Cam Reddish took his place in the starting lineup.
Russell said that he was sympathetic to the decision of head coach JJ Redick: I was only thinking about winning. Whatever the plan, whatever the coach needs, the priority is to achieve victory and be part of it.
According to insider Anthony Irvin, the Lakers are still concerned about how D`Angelo will react to being promoted to the second five in the long term.
Sources said the players were somewhat surprised Redick ditched Russell so quickly, but with improved communication, JJ was able to keep Russell on track and on the same page about his decision. It also helped that he did give this line-up a chance early in the season.
Some within the team are still concerned about how Russell will handle this story as time goes on, Irwin writes.
